Many parents worry for their children. They fear for their future carrier, they wish to keep them clear of drugs and they want them to have a good life.

Before you start feeling hip, this track is almost a year old and Noisey have already tired to ruin it.

After a while one cannot just listen to music and enjoy it, as the mind has to race through all the previous knowledge, to wrap the sound somehow around pre-existing ideas and ideals about music. Regardless my laziness that halted the release of this short article, Jim-E Stacks' "Deadstream" still sounds fresh and manages to overload my previously mentioned layers of criticism. The magic was to be found in what it evoked, which, to be specific, was an interview I made with the French hip-hop guru Guts. He said that music is like cooking. You mix all the inspirations like ingredients that you can find lying around. In this aspect, Jim-E Stack had a Gordon Ramsay moment.

"Deadstream" is just another slap for genres that long stood as a pivotal point for experts and fans alike to argue about, as it blends ingredients seamlessly from all across the audible range. Some elements such as broken beats, a soft indie rockish voice and the future bass like soundscape are a no brainer to spot, but at a certain moment the mind just gives in to the mesmerizing mixture of synths, riffs and distorted, chopped up vocals to the point where the flow blurs out the rest of the world.

Jim-E Stack have managed to drive home a track that is loaded with energy yet it's calm and soft at the same time, transmitting an overly positive feel to the listener while leaving enough room to be interpreted individually, navigating very cleverly on a road densely populated by clichés.
